  1. Hi Jake - I commented on your blog last fall when you showed up in a Google search while I was trying to determine the health condition of a bullfighter we saw gored at the same bullfight in late September (you assured me that the local news was that he would recover to fight another day). I promised myself that I wouldn't comment beyond that but I've remained an occasional voyeur of your travels - one, because you are an excellent writer; two,and more personally, you have traveled many of the same roads that my friends and I have taken in Europe so your pictures and commentary elicit great memories of my own experiences. Just felt moved to let you know how much I enjoy traveling with you, Katie and your Mom. Hope that you consider publishing some day as you clearly have a gift. I love knowing that young people have such amazing opportunities, and more importantly that they appreciate and take advantage of them. (ps - is Mario fighting again?)

  2. Sue— It's nice to hear from you! I'm so glad that you have continued to enjoy my musings in Spain and Europe. I take pleasure in knowing that someone outside my immediate family takes the time to read my blog, and even more from the fact that you relate to many of the places I've been. I am also delighted that you think highly of my writing. I am hoping to attend an MFA program in the future in order to continue to improve it. As for this coming year though, I'm not sure I can leave Spain just yet! Thanks again and please break your promise to yourself as much as you want when you feel the urge to make a comment. (PS- It looks like Mario will be fighting in August, though I couldn't find any information of his having fought since September. From some pictures it looks like he was laid up for awhile.)
